Dominican Republic president meets CPC delegation over ties
SANTO DOMINGO, Aug. 12 -- Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina met with a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) here on Friday, and spoke highly of bilateral relations. In the meeting with the delegation led by Li Jun, deputy head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the president positively evaluated the fruitful achievements that have been made more than one year after the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. Medina stressed that his country will firmly adhere to the one-China policy and deepen exchanges between parties of the two countries to consolidate the political foundation of bilateral relations. For his part, Li said that China is willing to work with the Dominican Republic to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, strengthen pragmatic cooperation and promote the steady and healthy development of bilateral relations. During the visit, Li also met with the leaders of major political parties in the country.
