REHOBOTH, 11 MAY – Two of the three matches deferred from last weekend in the first and second rounds of the Kunene Second Division Football League were played on Thursday in Khorixas and Kamanjab respectively.
The two matches between Pubs and Robber Chanties as well as Bethlehem Boys and Gariseb Orlando Pirates, were originally scheduled for the Outjo Etoshapoort Stadium last weekend.
Upon enquiry on Thursday, the Vice Chairperson of Kunene Second Division Bensley Hanabeb, said the matches were postponed due to belated Independence Day celebrations there.
“We played two of the matches on Thursday with the exception of Bethlehem Boys and Gariseb Orlando Pirates that will be played on Saturday,” he added.
The third match, between Revengers and Green Dangers, originally scheduled for Kamanjab, was not played due to an unplayable pitch last Saturday.
The match between Robber Chanties and Gariseb Orlando Pirates played in Khorixas ended 2-1 in favour of Pirates, while Green Dangers defeated Revengers 3-0 in Kamanjab.
Etoshapoort Stadium will on Saturday play host to the match between Bethlehem Boys and Gariseb Orlando Pirates at 14h00.
