WINDHOEK, Aug. 24 – With the imminent launch of the 081Every1 project by the giant telecommunications service provider, close to a hundred companies attended the tender information session which was held earlier today.
The session was a platform granted to prospective applicants to ask questions and clarify their stance pertaining the tender applications process. The 081Every1 project was launched late last month and plans to set up 524 network sites driven towards a tenfold 100% population density network coverage upon completion.
Presenting at the information session, MTC’s Transmission Manager, Ludwig Heinrich Tjitandi said: “We look forward to partner with competent Namibian companies which in line with MTC’s specification, will supply services such as ground clearing services, tower supply and design, yard building, civil work, antenna mounting, solar and grid battery power supply….”
At the same event, MTC Acting CEO, Thinus Smit highlighted that the 1.1 billion project will have many tenders issued out and the company will be looking at Namibian companies to do the job. On the same note, MTC’s Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs added that MTC is re-investing in the country’s economy.
