REHOBOTH, 27 MAY – A case of murder was reported to the Namibian Police at Aranos on Friday following the death of a man allegedly stabbed by his cousin earlier in the day.
Crime Investigations Coordinator in Hardap, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay on Saturday told Nampa the incident occurred between 16h00 and 16h10 at Bosduin residential area in Aranos.
“It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the deceased, who is his cousin, with a knife on the left side of the neck after an argument,” Clay said.
He said the victim, who has been identified as the 23-year-old Frans Ludeke, was rushed to the clinic after the stabbing, but was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect was arrested Friday and is due to appear in court on Monday.
Meanwhile, in the same region, a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened at the police station in Rehoboth.
Clay said a Volkswagen Polo left the road and overturned near Rehoboth on the Windhoek-Rehoboth main road around 19h30 on Friday.
The driver allegedly lost control over the vehicle with a Rehoboth registration number after being blinded by the bright lights of oncoming traffic.
“The 31-year-old driver, Mellino Henckert, was slightly injured,” Clay said.
A passenger, Jamon Cloete, 29, was seriously injured and transferred to the Windhoek Central Hospital.
Investigations into both matters are ongoing.
