Oshakati, Aug. 29 — Police in Oshana are investigating a case of rape after a 20-year-old Namibian woman was allegedly raped on Sunday 28.08.2022 at around 00h00 at Omukandu village.
According to Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, the woman who is seven months pregnant is a bartender at Okonde cucashop. She was on her way home with her sister when an unknown man came from behind and passed them.
The man allegedly turned back and started chasing the women. They ran separate ways and the man allegedly targeted the victim. She fell down and the man took out a knife and raped her at knifepoint.
The suspect is unknown and still at large. The victim was taken to Onandjokwe hospital where she is reported to be in stable condition.
Anyone with the information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect is asked to share it with the police.
